We understand as an artist you need a place you can feel comfortable and inspired to be at the top of your creativity. Starlab Recording is designed to give you that space to create and express yourself through music, melodies and words. Our job is simply to capture those moments.
Starlab Recording was built in Oct.2008 by musician/entrepreneur Efren Pereira Jr. Efren’s experience in the music industry spans over 25 years performing, writing, touring, producing, and engineering in many genres of music. Since opening the doors, Starlab Recording has already worked on over 2 dozen projects from full-length albums, demos, pre-production, post-production, singles and EPs.
Efren Pereira Jr. – Producer/Engineer/Musician
Efren attended Trebas Institute in Montreal in 2000 in Audio Engineering. Self-produced and wrote an album under The Band ef garnering the Grand Prize in The National Airwaves Contest for the independent release of “Bob and the Starship Salvation Pt.II”. He has worked with countless artists including: Brother Earl Pereira (Wide Mouth Mason, Mobadass), Bill Bourne (Juno Award Winner), Don Johnson (Grammy Award Winner). Produced Jen Lane’s self-titled album (nominated Most Outstanding Independent Album WCMA). His knowledge and skills in song-writing, arranging, producing and mixing will be a major asset to any project. He is also currently volunteering his time with Saskmusic as a board of director. Doug Luciuk – Music/Post-Production Engineer, Session Drummer, Composer
Recording engineer, producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. Doug began his musical career touring and performing at various venues across Canada. This led to a passion for recording sound. He went on to receive an audio engineering diploma at Pacific Audio Visual Institute in Vancouver B.C. Since then he has engineered, mixed and produced numerous projects throughout Western Canada.
Sean Pion – Music/Post-Production Engineer, Composer
Recording artist, composer, musician, and sound engineer. Sean has been part of the Canadian music scene for ten years, having toured the country extensively and recorded in many studios. On returning to Saskatoon, he began producing and engineering out of his home studio. Sean’s experience with a plethora of musicians and musical styles has sharpened his abilities as both a composer and producer. In 2006, he contributed several compositions for the first season of Landing and has since been involved in many other projects for television and film.
